Digital Publishing Innovation

Knowledge Management Strategy
Regardless of your goal - to inform, educate, entertain, or persuade...in today's publishing world we compete with quality content, knowledge resources, that are well distributed and discoverable...is yours?

Many organizations spend significant time and resources planning and strategizing.  To be successful your content assets, the information or knowledge you sell or provide, should also be well planned with a clear strategy defined.

Definition:  Content strategy has been described as "the practice of planning the content creation, delivery, and governance" and "a repeatable system that defines the entire editorial content development process for a website development project."  A Knowledge Management Strategy goes beyond just your website.  It includes the process of creating, collecting and sharing though all means your readers wish to consume that knowledge - Print, Online, and eBooks.

About This Site

On this site we will explore the transformation taking place in the publishing world with the focus on how you can take part in it.   We'll also look at the Three Folds of publishing - curation (the process of collecting valuable content), workflow (how to manage the content in a cost effective manner that focuses on where it's headed not just the form it's in today) and finally Distribution (where your content is headed and, more importantly, maintaining flexibility to deliver your content the way your readers value it).    We'll also explore some products and services, solutions that are affordable and work - today.

While planning and strategy are important... the focus of your efforts should be on execution.  What are you going to do today?  The key is leading with a sense of purpose and an openness to failing, but doing so fast, learning from it, and continuing to build.   Give me a call and let's discuss what we can build in your organization.

For 24 years he has been proud to serve associations, non-profit and for-profit organizations in helping them achieve part of their core mission - delivering knowledge.    Long before eBooks and Content Management Systems and SaaS technology were common.   David has used his technology background to help develop solution for digital collection and distribution solutions that are easy to use and provide clear value to both the organization and the authors and readers.

The last two years has seen an explosion in growth and opportunity for self publishers to bring their "content" to readers in meaningful and cost effective ways creating new value streams.   And I feel we have just scratched the surface on where digital content will take us in the next few years.

One of David’s best accomplishments is the building of a highly functional team.   Through various voices on the team,  positioned company as thought leaders. He and his team produce an award winning blog and speak at various conferences on event publishing, content collection, social media, and content strategy.

During the last 4 years he has brought these skills to serve two incredible K-8 schools working side by side with faculty and other parents.   The experience has been a deepening and expanding of his skills, working with diverse groups, and leading through modeling.

His goal is about empowering people to recognize challenges as opportunities, drive value creation through exceptional service, keep processes simple and and produce easy to use products.
